The 19th annual Intercompany Long-Term Care Insurance (ILTCI) conference was held in Chicago and was a huge success. Fuzion once again was a Diamond sponsor and our attendees represented well, having the opportunity to network with more than 1,100 participants, attend engaging breakout sessions, and listen to informative and motivating large group speakers.

The conference kicked off with keynote speaker, Jamie Clarke. Jamie is an accomplished adventurer and uses his experiences to help develop teams, including the 2018 Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals. He is one of a handful of people in the world who has climbed the Seven Summits and draws on his love of adventure to demonstrate the power of teamwork, innovative thinking, and tackling your goals.

Attendees had their choice of a wide variety of breakout sessions, organized in functional tracks. Fuzion’s attendees took advantage of presentations and discussion on the latest trends, challenges, and solutions in areas such as Actuarial & Finance; Management & Operations; Claims & Underwriting; and Legal, Compliance & Regulatory. We also had a few attendees join a pre-conference session for Future Leaders and a post-conference session with the LTCi Anti-Fraud Forum.

Fuzion’s chief fraud officer, Jeff Ferrand, was a breakout session speaker in the Claims & Underwriting track, alongside the session producer and speaker, Karen Smyth, Vice President, Long Term Care Operations for Wilton Re.  Jeff and Karen led a very interactive session on the Society of Actuaries Anti-Fraud Survey Results & Next Steps. The goal of the survey and sharing the survey results during this ILTCI breakout session was to identify ways the industry can improve its relationship with regulators in support of best practices for fraud prevention, detection, and recovery.

The 20th annual Intercompany Long-Term Care Insurance conference will be hosted in Denver, Colorado in March 2020. Fuzion looks forward to engaging with our industry peers to continue to build relationships, share knowledge, and find solutions to long-term care insurance challenges.
